Hank Finds an Egg (Wordless Picture Book)
![](https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/91oCZzHzK9L.jpg)
Hank a little bear finds an egg on the ground and proceeds to pick it up. He looks around to see where it might have come from and realizes that it fell out of a nest in a tree above him. Hank then takes the egg and tries to put it back in the nest a few ways. First he attempts to bring a tree stump underneath the nest to be able to reach it but he still cannot reach high enough. Next he builds a latter but even that does not bring him high enough to put the egg back into the nest. At this point it is night time so he cuddles next to the egg and creates a fire so that he can sleep for the night and try again in the morning. When he wakes up he goes back to the nest and the "mom" bird is at the nest and she flies down to him. She cannot pick the egg up though so he makes a little cushion sack out of the surrounding plants so that the egg could be protected and the mom could carry the egg back up to the nest. He wraps the egg in the cushioned sack and she flies it up to the nest. The eggs hatch and the baby bird that he was trying to get to the nest flies down to him and this makes him happy.
I give this book three out of four stars. The main character Hank not only throughout the book is super adorable but is very determined to get the egg back into the nest. The artwork is very unique and refreshing because most picture books are drawings. As you go from page to page it is almost like watching a little short film or show. The only reason I did not rate the book four out of four stars is because the story seemed in some ways short or shorter than it could have been. I would highly recommend reading this book if you are looking for a quick smile.
