This a true story from the underground railroad. A little boy named Henry Brown was a slave who worked in his master's house. Henry always dreamed about being free but it does not seem like a possibility to him. Henry and his family are split up and sold and Henry is forced to work in harder conditions than in the house. Henry grows older and marries a woman and they too after sometime are separated. At the warehouse that he works Henry gets the idea to get into one of the boxes there and mail himself to the North. He does so and has a long journey until he finally reaches the North. Finally his dreams of becoming free are a reality.

I would rate this book three stars out of four. Levine does a really good job telling the story and not using an overwhelming amount of words to do so. The book has good themes and lessons that young readers can learn from. While I was reading this book it reminded me of many different slave stories. That is why I rate it three out of four stars just because the story does not feel unique. This book would be good for readers who are interested in the history of America and the stories of slaves.
